CABLEready signs OTF for Africa

US distributor CABLEready has signed Dutch company Off the Fence (OTF) to become its exclusive sales agent for Africa, as well as agreeing several new broadcast sales.

Amsterdam-based distributor/producer OTF will begin the partnership by representing African rights to 328 half-hour episodes of factual series FORENSIC FILES and MEDICAL DETECTIVES.

Both shows profile intriguing crimes where the application of science leads to an arrest, following coroners, medical examiners, physicians, law enforcement officials, journalists and legal experts as they piece each crime together.

Meanwhile, CABLEready has also signed cable/satellite rights deals with seven major networks including the HBO-owned Spektrum Channel, 03 Productions, Planete, Current TV, Focus, Nonstop Television and TV4 Scandinavia.

In Hungary and the Czech Republic, Spektrum picked up the rights to fifteen 30-minute episodes of HD series EPIC CONDITIONS. The series explores the dynamics between optimum weather conditions and location in creating the ultimate extreme sports adventure.

Middle Eastern outfit 03 Productions has picked up television rights to nine 60-minute episodes of ACCIDENT INVESTIGATOR, Poland’s Planete has picked up the hour-long doc BIOGRAPHY OF A CORPSE and virus mini-series MICRO KILLERS (4×60′).

Focus, in Germany, has secured the rights to hour-long doc, MUNCHAUSEN MOMS, which follows three mothers that inflict a rare, but lethal form of child abuse known as Munchausen By Proxy – involving making their own child ill. The company also bought rights to 14×60′ episodes of MORE THAN HUMAN, which explores the limits of the human body.

Nonstop Television, based in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, has picked up the rights to 26 new episodes of INSIDE THE ACTOR’S STUDIO, as well as 13 new episodes of interview series TIMES TALKS, TV4 in Scandinavia secured the rights to 10×60′ series STUNT STARS, 13×30′ series MAKING NEWS, and 12×60′ episodes of WOMEN BEHIND BARS.
